Recently, Automobili Lamborghini officially introduced the Huracan Sterrato at Art Basel in Miami Beach. This is the first sports supercar that delivers an exhilarating driving experience even on rough terrain and dirt roads, bringing back the essence of athleticism and highlighting the core values of the brand: courage, originality, and surprise.
According to Theo Stephan Winkelmann, the Chairman and CEO of Lamborghini, the presence of their avant-garde supercar at Art Basel in Miami is a true interpretation of the original concept of a sports car as a work of art. When it comes to performance, the Sterrato is among the most exhilarating and dynamic driving experiences in the world.
The Huracan Sterrato has been optimized to operate in various environmental conditions, from highways to muddy terrains, providing excellent control. It comes with an upgraded version of the Lamborghini Integrated Vehicle Dynamics (LDVI) system compared to the Huracan EVO, featuring driving modes such as STRADA and SPORT. Additionally, the Sterrato is the first Huracan model equipped with a RALLY driving mode specifically designed for low-grip environments.
From the first glance, Sterrato’s appearance exudes an adventurous spirit. Compared to the Huracan EVO, the ground clearance has been raised by 44mm to ensure a larger suspension system travel, and the front and rear track widths have been increased by 30mm and 34mm, respectively. To protect the body, the car is equipped with an aluminum skid plate at the front, reinforced door hinges, a sturdier rear diffuser, and wheel arches that emphasize the muscular look of Sterrato. The classic air intakes at the rear not only enhance the sporty appearance but also provide enough clean air when driving on dusty roads.
Sterrato is proof that Lamborghini’s DNA design works efficiently, even with designs that seem impossible to imagine. The design of Sterrato transforms the legacy of super sports cars into a new form, reflecting the specific purpose of providing a unique and exciting driving experience.
The Huracan Sterrato is equipped with a 5.2-liter V10 engine, producing 610 horsepower and 560 Nm of torque (at 6,500 rpm), combined with a dual-clutch 7-speed gearbox and a 4-wheel electronic control transmission system with a mechanical rear differential lock. Designed to optimize power on sandy terrain, the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 260 km/h.
The vehicle is equipped with a braking system that has a fixed aluminum caliper with 6 pistons (front) and 4 pistons (rear). The brake discs are made of ceramic material combined with carbon and have breathability holes and cross chamber grooves. The front discs have a diameter-thickness of 380mm-38mm while the rear discs have a diameter-thickness of 356mm-32mm. The vehicle also has 19-inch wheels paired with specially designed Bridgestone Dueler AT002 tires that provide maximum flexibility and compatibility on all surfaces, giving the driver an enjoyable experience behind the wheel. The tire specifications are 235/40 R19 (front) and 285/40 R19 (rear) and they come with run-flat technology which allows the vehicle to travel an additional 80km at a speed of 80km/h with a tire pressure of zero in case of a puncture.
Bridgestone tires are specially designed to perfectly fit the DNA of your vehicle. They incorporate innovative design features and advanced compounds to provide excellent grip on gravel and airport surfaces, while maintaining exceptional handling and high-speed performance.
The distinctive interior features the exclusive Alcantara Verde Sterrato material, reflecting the traditional “feel like a pilot” philosophy applied to the Huracán line – placing the driver at the center of the passenger compartment for the ultimate driving experience and absolute control over all aspects of the vehicle. The touch screen display boasts new graphics and special off-road driving features; for the first time, these devices are equipped with a digital inclinometer with altitude and roll indicators, a compass, a geographic coordinate indicator, and a steering angle indicator.
Lamborghini Connect is one of the services available on Lamborghini cars that is integrated with Amazon Alexa. This allows drivers to adjust features such as air-conditioning and interior lighting, as well as control navigation, make phone calls, and access entertainment with a simple voice command. Additionally, owners can remotely control their vehicles using the Lamborghini UNICA app, which enables them to track speed and send destinations directly to the car’s navigation system. The Huracan Sterrato comes equipped with a telemetry system that provides remote diagnostic data, allowing drivers to monitor performance and analyze vehicle data via the UNICA app. Apple Watch users can also sync their heart rate information with the telemetry system to measure driving performance. Furthermore, the Lamborghini Drive Recorder app enables drivers to record their driving experiences, capturing exciting moments and enhancing the digital diary feature of the Board Diaries, which is also integrated into the Lamborghini UNICA app.
Finally, Lamborghini’s Ad Personam customization program has provided Huracán Sterrato owners with limitless options to personalize their car’s exterior appearance. With Ad Personam, customers can choose from 350 exterior paint colors and over 60 leather and Alcantara interior options. The limited edition Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato, which will only have 1499 units produced, is set to hit the market in February of 2023.
